Exclamation Quick question about seats:

Is it possible to switch them around? My driver's side is pretty sorry shape. Springs underneath busted and foam is falling out left and right. Really hurts my back after long drives. Can I switch the passenger to the driver's side? I figured I could switch the rails and ****, I never really looked at it to see if I could so I am asking here to see if anyone else has done it.

Thanks for any info!

no..the passenger seat has a curved bottom on the right saide to allow room for the trans/ exhaust tunnel and the driver seat does not allow for this.

the passanger seat bracket also attaches to the side not the bottom on the right side

That's why I was going to switch the rails on the seats with each other. I figured that I couldn't just unbolt them and switch seeing as the railing is different. But if I was able to switch the railings from the SEATS, then I can see it being possible. That is if the railings on the seats come off.

Well, I went out to do this and I guess this won't work unless I modify the existing railings, switch them around and then I would also have to modify the seats as well. Ah well, guess I'll just have to look for some of those lovely miata seats.

hate to say it but i told you so...if you read my post again you will see that i said the passenger seat rail bolts into the SIDE of the passanger seat (im NOT being an ******* where...so please dont take it that wayl) you CAN get some cheap seats off ebay and make some custom adapters to connect the new rails to the existing locations..I.E. boltin in the same place as i did.
