Quick question about Mallory 4609 Fuel Pressure Regulator

so I had put my car away for the winter and didnt run it like i was supposed to. I also didnt change the summer oil for winter oil, but it would still turn over. The car wouldnt fire and after checking I found the problem to be the mallory FPR. I guess it had vapor lock, or something to that nature becuase it pretty much seemed to be clogged, couldnt even blow through it. I know it isn't dirt causing the issue becuase i had just put it on in the summer. I was able to get it to work later on, but the same symptoms returned, luckily i was able to disconnect it and still get to work. Do you think I can clean it and get it back to reliable working order? if so what would you reccomend for a cleaner? I'd get a new one, but i dont want to spend the money if i dont have to--thanks

Buy a rebuild kit....Summit or Jegs should have them.....pretty easy to rebuild.
I did mine took more time to take it apart and clean then it did to replace parts.

so i did some searching on summit and jegs, wasnt able to find the part number that stated that it was for the 4609 FPR. Do you by chance know which one would be the correct rebuild kit for the 4609?

so i got the kit, rebuild the FPR, worked great for a little while, then on the last start up before getting it ready for the road it stopped working. I looked at my pressure gauge and it was really low, got on the throttle and the car died. after that it wouldn't fire back up until I disconnected the fpr. currently i have the fuel coming in through the side and going through the bypass port to the carb, I'd assume it is set up correctly cuz the guy that did the jetting on my carb specializes in rx-7s, but i dont understand why the fpr doesnt work any more, any ideas?
