Look at the Faqs.

But there isnt realy much "quick" power. There is however much easier and much cheaper alternatives to t/c or s/c.

Exhaust.
Carb.
Second gen leading ignition (DFILDIS)

The turbo route is a bit more complex than most realize

2.5" exhaust, free flow. RB Header, Custom rest. I am an avid Borla user, they should pay me for being the spokesperson for them

Get a Sidedraft mikuni/dellroto/Weber/OER in 44 or 45mm size, or get the downdraft Weber 48IDA.

This setup will rock for NA power, and you won't have to change anything for the turbo set up (minus taking off the header of course).

Since the first two didn't ask, is it a GSL-SE or a 12a powered car? If its a 13b then don't switch it to a carb. Do ignition and exhaust and it should be running pretty good.

Then start searching, read the faqs and look through the archives.

DL the FSM from my signature line for your year.

It also probably says "12A" or "13B" on top the rotor housings...

If you're going to spout facts, at least try to get them right.

12A=1146 cc @101 hp
13B=1308 cc @135 hp

with the standard 4 barrel carb.....
if you take air filter off and operate the throttle you can pick the primary and secondary butterflys...
as std they run a vacuum operated secondarys...
if you bend/shorten the little linkage you can make the secondarys operate mechanically!!!!
so regardless of speed, when u plant your foot, it gets more fuel and all throttles are open!!!!
combine this with a freeflowing exhaust, depending on budget,
keep the primary pipes as long as possible & merge pipes just b4 diff is best
min diameter from eng twin 2in to 2.5in single

this set up on a 12A in a 1st gen Rx7 with 220,000kms on the clock
depending on the driver, just faster or as fast as a pontiac GTO with a genII V8(our Aussie Holden Monaro)

If u dont care bout emissions (or dont mind switching in/out), a really cheap and effective mod is putting in a straight pipe in for the stock cat(s). First thing i did when i got my 83 GSL is dump that giant, heavy "sand" filled OEM cat system and put in a $75 Bonez midpipe (from RP). Opened er up a bit as well as good weight loss.

Yeah my first mods for my car consist of a RB mid or 'test' pipe and their catback. Shouldn't open her up a bit.

There are none. No one makes turbo kits for the 1st gens anymore. It's all gotta be custom. Basically carb/intake, exhaust, and ignition are your bolt on options

Im gonna say it again. Search. This **** has been covered. Its not a honda. There are no (or VERY few) bolt on or easy modifications for these cars. Its freakin 25 yrs old. Nothing exists for them anymore (not easily or cheaply found that is).

Search. Im sorry but this **** gets beat to death every god dam day. "how can i turbo my 12A" and "i wanna turbo what do i need to do". Search thats what. Search the first gen section for all of the peoples builds. THEN if you have specific technical questions, start a thread.

Otherwise start learning about "this rotary lingo" because otherwise you are gonna dump a broken *** rotary on someone else for less than you paid for it because you didnt listen.

As Jesse has stated. You need to start reading the material that is readily available on this subject. Read the FAQ section also because there are many good threads to educate you on your car "Before" you start doing any modifications.

Below are 2 very good threads on the "HP" subject.
