Quick FPR Question

I am about to glue my 2- 90 degree inserts and one straight in insert into my holly red FPR and had a quick question: The straight through one is kind of tapered at the end and skrews in very easily all the way to the end of the threads. The 90 degree bends are not tapered at the end and they only skrew in a couple of turns. Should i really tork on the 90 degree inserts to tighten them up or just snug them up with some thread goop (made for fuel applications of course)

Thanks

Glue? I hope you're kidding. The threads for the Holley fprs and fuel pumps take NPT fittings. I buy all my fittings in the plumbing section at the local hardware store, brass of course. Use a chemical resistant teflon tape or my personal choice, teflon paste. Teflon tape can break off and enter the fuel system. AN fittings do NOT work and I never use the steel NPTs, except for the pipe plugs, but still prefer brass over steel.

The fittings you need, with barbed ends, are in the gas pipe section. Do not over tighten or you'll strip out the aluminum threads. Both the pump and the fprs take 3/8" NPT fittings. Some pumps take 1/4" NPT fittings, but I don't feel those will provide enough fuel flow. You can buy 3/8" male ends with barbs to fit most any size fuel line.

By glue i meant high temp thread sealant. Who the F would use glue, come on guys give me some credit I have been doing this for a long time, I just didn't feel like figuring out the proper name for the stuff. I bought all my fittings at a high performance auto shop. Yes they are 3/8th NPT. I was just wondering since my "straight" fitting with sort of a taper at the end skrews in all the way just using my fingers if I should put a wrench in the 90' bends and turn them in all the way??? Wasn't sure if just a few threads was enouph to give a good seal.
