Quick discussion on OMP GSL-SE
Evening everyone!
I was hoping to get some feedback on my GSL SE I'm working on restoring one piece at a time. It's got a fresh rebuilt 6 port GSL SE Engine and everything, and I've spent a lot of time and money on my project, and I want to make sure everything I've invested in is protected.
I wanted a few opinions on the Oil metering pump. I was working on the engine today, changing out the pressure regulators and pulsation damper (It didn't have one, the previous owner removed it) and I took a look down the intake. There appeared to be a little oil on the oil injectors, but not a whole tonne.
When I got the engine going again, I watched the OMP lines, and they appear to be clear. I shone a flashlight in, and I couldn't see any significant oil movement in the lines. Also, I checked the oil on the dipstick, and it's definitely black. The oil in the lines looks clear, IF there's any oil in there at all.
Seeing as I've put on about 400 miles since the rebuild, the idea that the omp isn't working disturbs me profusely. The cars never seen more then a 10-15 minute run though, so im hoping I didn't damage anything!
I read the FSM on how to see if the OMP is functioning.. but it only mentioned a solution for the carb'd 12A, not the GSL SE.
Under these conditions, should I maybe start Pre-mixing until I get a new OMP going? I want this car to run the best possible, and I've spent the last month tracking down every little vacuum leak and chatter and I dont want it sidelined by this.
Opinions? is there a better way to check the OMP, and if I start pre-mixing, any suggestions there?
Thanks everyone, take care!

premixing is a good alternative. however the stock omp on the SE is a very good unit and you should use it if you can. first thing, ensure the connecting rod from the omp to the throttle body is hooked up and functioning properly. if so, i would then remove the omp and lines and check for obstruction in each and check the omp and ensure its functional on the work bench. replace the omp if you find a malfunction and or replace each of the omp lines and crush washers if need be.
