Lucas can help reduce flow past the seals, but that's regular lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer not their ATF treatment. ATF treatments will cause the seals to swell, which will reduce your leakage, but they also make them a lot softer so that they will blow out in no time.

If you have leaks or smoking and can't afford a rebuild right now, then get the oil stabilizer and give that a shot. Some of us have had great success with it.

Right, but don't use it in your engine. ATF can have some very nasty side effects, and fouls your plugs so you need to replace them. I know that this has been recommended in several places, but that info is very outdated.

If you are trying to clean out the carbon, here is what works great for me: pick up a can of Seafoam, put it into about 1/8 - 1/4 of a tank of gas, and run her like a raped ape. Don't add more gas when you put it in, keep the solution very strong.
