questions about General Maintenence

I have followed a lot of advise from all you out there and this forum is GREAT!!!!.. I have replaced the fluids in the tranny, rear end and motor. What about brake fluid and clutch fluid??..should that all be replaced once in a while???I want longevity out of my gsl-se ..what else should be checked/replaced???...I know about MMO and use that in the motor oil and a little in the gas..I really want to say one day " I got 200,000 miles on my se and it still runs strong"...But we all know that maintenence, maintenence, maintenence is soooooo critical. So.......what do you guys say??? Thanks sooooo much.................CJF.......................... .....................

In a Word Yes.

All fluids deteriorate our time. Brake fluid will pick up moisture which can reek havoc on you brakes calipers, lines, and master cylinder and so on an and so forth…. Blah, Blah, Blah,

I’m not sure of the recommended interval for flushing the brakes, and clutch slave, anyone else know? Thinking it would be in the every 24 to 36 month range, but don’t have a book handy.

Don’t forget the Radiator!

The coolant should be flushed and changed to a 50/50 mixture b4 the winter season, and flushed again in the spring, putting back in the usual 80/20 distilled water/coolant mixture. I put fresh brake and clutch fluid b4 winter. Very easy to do and inexpensive.

Clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder use brake fluid. Bleed just like bleeding the brakes.

I just bleed the front calipers until I get fresh fluid to come out and then I bleed the rear.Keelp filling up the master as you go. I've heard guys bleeding the master dry then filling with fresh fluid and bleeding until fresh fluid at the calipers. Up to you.
