I am no mechanic...I can change tranny, rear and motor oil...thats about it.. My problem is this....I drive the car around for 15-25 miles or so, stop at a light and as I am sitting there, the rpms start surging like I am stepping on the gas , letting off and then stepping on the gas again....it revs back and forth and I have to press the gas peddle hard to get it to stopp...then it stops but then idles a little high ( around 1200 rpms)..and stays there...Is this a fuel pump problem?..Is there a fuel filter I would need to change?...I don't even know where the fuel pump or filter is...(dahhhh)...I put in fuel injector cleaner but that did not seem to work. Any Ideas??? the car has 89,000 miles on it...thanks for any input...Love this forum...............CJF

My problem was a couple of vacuum leaks, dirty throttle chamber, and a miss adjusted TPS. Good Luck!
