question didn't get answered in my last thread...sheet metal thickness?
I posted a thread a week or so ago about driver's seat pan rust, and now that i've gotten my hands on a welder, I was wondering what thickness metal I should use to replace the driver's seat pan with, and what thickness I should replace the seat mounts with. I'm not too skilled with a welder, but i'm going to practice for a day before I start going at the seat pan. I was taught by a buddy at school how to use a basic mig welder, so I have some expierence.
Also, what should I use for seam sealer with the new pan? I don't think that household caulk would be a good thing, but what I should use for a seam sealer, and where I can get it I don't know.
Thanks
Jim

All the patches I've ever done on the floor/trunk pans is 22ga sheet. I use 16ga mild steel sheet for the wheel wells and other more structural things on the car.
For seam sealer I use "Por-patch" since it also helps to stop rust, but theres also plenty of other good ones that Eastwood and other such companies sells.
Good luck!
