Question for ALL you Carter Pump Guys...

Okay, is it just me or do the electrical connectors on the carter fuel pump fall off every time you breathe on them? These things are total crap! I don't understand how on earth they will possibly be able to stay on once my car is actually going down the road. Do any of you other guys have the same problem? Has anyone found a way to keep them from coming off? Can you put some different type of connector on the fuel pump posts. Please share your ideas on this subject. I would like to know what all of you think about this....

I had no problem with mine. Maybe yours are bad from the factory? The knurling holds the terminals quite well on mine.

What sort of terminals are they? Back when I had my Carter it had threaded posts and ring terminals. No way those could come off.

I've had no problems with mine, though at first I was skeptical about them.

This is the one I have. I believe it has the connectors youre talking about. They dont look very solid, I can't remember how I put the wires in, but I had similar concerns. It is okay though.

Yeah, that's the one. For some reason my pic isn't showing up. I'll have to work on that...

They just seem like they are too loose on the knurled posts. I guess If it's not broke then don't fix it. I'll try it out for a while, and if they come off I'll go back to the drawing board. I just think it is a pretty sorry way of making them. You pay $100 for the thing and then they shitcan something like that when they make it...

Have you had any problems with the fuel pump being mounted horizontally?
