question about yawpower.com

Has anybody ever got a 12a rebuild from yawpower.com, and if you did are they reliable and good?

Where does it show that he does rebuilds?

I think he only works on race projects now.

Dont remember anyone on here saying they have one of his motors. You might ask in the racing section.

They say he was almost unreachable when he was building carbs, Unless he was helping you tune it.

i communicated with yawpower a little over a year ago about getting carb work done. he responded quickly, maybe 2-3 days tops. since then i have sent him two emails, one about a year ago, one a few weeks ago. no reply to either.

Paul was always hit or miss. He does impeccable work. Unbelievably knowledgeable. But, years ago when he was doing carbs, he would get on the phone with someone to help them (even if they didn't buy a carb from him), and he would let everything else slip. He was just too busy and too helpful.
Lately, I have heard he is really into the RX8 stuff. I don't know for sure, just what I heard. But, he is next to impossible to get a hold of.

Emailed him twice in the past 6mo about the fuel pressure gauge. Both times told him I had Paypal/VISA at the ready, and got nothing.

All he had to do was give me a paypal address or say "okay, what's your VISA number?" and ship it out. No assembly, tweaking, porting. Just a simple mail-out.

Did he? no.

So I bought one of the new 0-10psi ones from bwaits with quick-disconnect.

I agree that his tech articles are awesome and the pics of his work are drool-worthy, but if I can't get ahold of someone, when I have money I want to give them for something so simple, it's not worth my effort.

Jon

I got one of his Nikki carbs years ago too.Back then,he was all over the customer service work and yes,he is a VERY smart and friendly guy.His advice and professionalism over the phone was top notch and his carb absolutley rocked!!

From what I can gather,he was too good and when word got out,he was overwhelmed with orders. His small one-man show couldnt keep up,he didnt trust anyone else to do the work for him, and he fell behind with orders and customer service.I assume thats why he went more towards race gear since it caters to a smaller audience, usually with bucks to spend. He also got very interested in RX-8 parts and mods, about the same time Mazda released it to the public, furthur taking time/resources away from 1G related parts.
