Question about Vin Numbers

Whats up all,
I have noticed that with mostly the first gen RX7's
the vin paltes seem to differ other the the acutal vin number and paint code. I am curious as to what there diferences mean. These are my specific examples.

1) The four digits on the lower right corner 8595 I have seen some with no letters, A's and B's after the numbers. What does that mean. In addtiotion to the first gen it is the same deal on second gens.
2) Most of the plates I have seen say FB331 what is the difference between those and ones that say FB332

Thanks for you help. Matt22

If I remember correctly, FB331's were 12A powered cars, and FB332 were the 13B'd GSL-SE's...

Have you checked out www.rotorhead.ca ? He's got a whole page dedicated to figuring out vin numbers.

Ok so if a second gen has FC332 it might mean that it
