Question Question about Spark Plug Wires

Aren't the distributors in the same spot in 1'st gen and 2'nd Gen cars? The plugs would be the same distance from the distributor in both generations. If so, then wouldn't a set of spark plug wires advertised for use in a 86-92 2nd gen work in a 1st gen????

Re: Question about Spark Plug Wires

Second Gen's have the distributor mechanism in the same place but they come setup from factory for direct fire setup thus the wires are not connected to the any dirstributor. The sparkplug wires are longer as they are connected to the coils and the coils are on the side of the fender. so no, they're not the same length. the second gens are a little longer than 1st gen's...
