question about carb for turbo setup

I was wondering if using a 45mm Weber Dco carb would work okay with a turbo setup.. yes i am refering to blowthru.. and it will more than likely be a stock turbo.

for stock port it would be okay, but if you go street port, and alot more power youll probably want to upgrade. but yea a 45 would be okay

Exactly. Although I never recommend blow-through sidedraft setups.

do some research on tuning side drafts and you'll understand. if you can't tune the carb then forget about boosting it

just some warning.. it isn't easy.

before i believe that you drive a 700 rwhp 12a on the street i would have to see a video that someone i know filmed.
i would just about go to say its almost impossible to have any kind of reliability with that much power thru a 12a.
if the dyno wasnt setup properly do you know they can give you an incorrect figure, also some people pursuade ,as you would want to say, the numbers on dynos.

700rwhp is completely possible from a 12a. Rob at rotaryshack makes 730rwhp out of his. made 550rwhp using the stock nikki carb. but to go way past that you either need a nice blow thru holley like the mustang guys use or Stand alone fuel injection with ITB's.

funny thing.. a thread about blow-thru carbs and we are to read his sig...
which makes no mention of any type of fuel induction system whatsoever, unless its that mystical "port bolish" that seems to be popular with the young-uns lately.

my favorite is still the PORT BOLISH

and if it's just a greddy T88 then he's gotta have that boost cranked to get 700rwhp. it's not an 88mm turbo like some think. hell the people with gt42's and 47's are running crazy boost to reach this number.

i'm not buyin in to it yet.

yeah what a tard.. so fbII everyone on the ohio board thinks i should just get a T2 engine and drop it in.. but i think i may have more fun with the 12a being turboed.. i respect your opinion and would like to know what you think..

it really all depends on how much you want to spend and the patience you have. i love having my 12a turbo setup, but i won't lie... sometimes i wouldn't mind having a TII motor in there purely for the fact that i could just slap on a 62-1 and make 350rwhp no problem. with the 12a i am forced to tear it open and port it. BUT, when the 12a is ported with that same turbo i can hit 400rwhp at the same boost level. sooooo, asdflkaslfkjaslk;jflkasjfk it's a toughy

if you have the funds go for the TII swap.

you can carb a t2 that is what a lot of people do. Hey FBII didn't Robert make 680 rwhp on a weber 12a blowthrough. I'm pretty sure he did then he went FI and went over the 700 mark.
