question about brake pads

question about brake pads

I have done some searching on 1st gen brake pads, and I couldn't find anything on, is it hard to install them by yourself??.....can you use everything shop tools????


Or would it just be way easer to take it some were and have them do it??

Front pads are really easy. Just disconnect the 17mm bolt on the bottom if the caliper and rotate the caliper upward and remove the pads. You will need a clamp of some sort to compress the piston all the way back before putting the caliper back. Rears are a bit more complicated but there is a thread on here explaining it somewhere. Make sure you give your brakes a good pump before driving, first pump will go right to the floor
