I recently saw a FB that had steel or aluminum sides with a large RX-7 decal, ive seen a few online, what model are these?

 

You mean it looked like some brushed aluminum or steel on the "B" pillar, right behind the doors? Going up over the roof? From about the top of the fender on each side?

That would be the Targa bar, an option on a few years of the FB.

 

nah, its on the doors and fenders/quarter panels underneath the rubber dent strips.

 

I've seen the lower body panels that you describe, but I believe they are all after market. I don't think they were stock on any model from the factory.
