Pyrometer on 12a turbo ?'s

I was wondering about pyrometers for a turbo setup to keep track of the turbo temps. Would this be a good thing to invest in or a waste of time and $. I thought it would be a pretty good idea, but how would I set it up(where would I place the thermocouple?) and what kind of temps are good, ok and danger zone for a turbo on A DRAWTHRU setup? Thanks guys!
Eric

if you do some searching there is plenty of info on sensors and gauges. most gauges do not read high enough, rotary can do 2000f/1100c

the actual number varies with the sensor placement, and it needs to be before the turbo. after the turbo tells you nothing except the temp of the downpipe, which we dont care about.

optimum temp is about 950C, over 1000C you're too hot.

Pineapple racing has a pyrometer gauge, but it is plenty expensive. I would place that on each manifold runner pre turbo.

Pretty sure it should be pre-turbo. If you had a wide band that would be post turbo.
