Putting carbed FC 6 port in, have a few questions

Hello, have a couple questions about this swap, input and information is definitely appreciated.
It will be streetported, running Holley carb setup

I already know I need a GSL-SE oil pan for sure. I also know I can use either a 12a, or GSL-SE front cover. As 12a front covers are a lot more available, I'm thinking about using that. My concern with that was the water pump. Will it be sufficient for the motor swap, or would it be better to use the GSL-SE front cover?

Also, I was curious if I could yank out the ECU/Harness to clean up the engine bay. Is there a few wires I need to keep, can I yank it out completely?

I guess thats all I have for now, I cant think of anything else I was wondering about. I know I've been asking a lot of questions lately on this forum, but I've been a FC guy since I've been into 7's (since 02), this is somewhat new to me. Never owned a carbed vehicle either.

Hate to bump my own thread here, but I just stumbled across a problem. Holley carb was the plan until someone posted a Weber 48 IDA, for more than $200 cheaper than the setup I was going to acquire. This might be just personal opionion, but which is better for my application?

If I go by just price, it seems the holley set up costs more than the Weber does, but I'm not sure it's actually better.

I am a holley fan because that is what I know. That being said, the weber is perfectly suited to the rotary and looks awesome as well. Picture a hood modded with a TII scoop serving as a ram air feeding a functional cold air box around the weber filter. For me, if i had to make the choice, side draft weber all the way and start learning how to tune it.

Oh, one more thing, detail the engine and add the alternator relocation kit too!

Well I picked up the weber, it's not IDA though, it's DCOE. I like side draft more anyhow. I need to know soon about the front cover, I will be buying my parts later this week. I just need to know if the water pump will circulate coolant efficiently enough to keep a 13b streetport cool.

Would also like to know about the wiring, but that isn't a pressing issue at the moment.

Build thread will be coming soon enough!

Wiring is cake, might have to run a wire to the fuel pump though. You will need a fuel pressure regulator for the weber. The 12a/13b first gen water pump is just fine, my supercharged 13b never overheats. We want pics!

The carb I got came with a mallory FPR (I believe thats the brand name). Unfortunately, the intake isn't a complete one, its one that bolts up to the stock lower - and it is definitely too small for my intake. Going to be calling up Rob @ RotaryShack when I get money in paypal to get the intake, injector hole plugs, and some other stuff I cant think of right now. I got most of the engine bay stripped, except the wiring harness, and a couple brake lines. Going to clean it out tomorrow, finish up the interior, and clean up interior parts.

There is a mint gray dashboard at the junkyard, but after reading posts on how much of a PITA it is to get out, I might just pass on it.

I suppose I need to continue this in the non-tech section.

i ran a 6 port 13b in a 85 GS with a holley 600, i could take out the wiring harness entirely and have no issues. all you need is a wire for the temp sensor, oil pressure and voltage. and the wiring to the starter and battery of course.
