purge valve is that like a pcv?

hi
the purge valve thats conneted to the oil filler tube,
if that goes bad would that cause corrison in the oil filler
tube?

Yes, its job is to divert the evoparative bad things fromt he motor into the intake (if its running) or if its not to the charcoal canister. If its stopped up, it will allow hot air to rise and then gather at the top of the oil filler neck, when it cools, hot and cold mix and you get mist (water vapor)

i wonder if thats why i have rust in my oil filler pipe?

Id probally say so, but I got 2 or 3 emission solenoid racks here, maybe one of them is good? I dunno, I just left the vents open... Not much else you can do when you are emission less. Unless is someone else knows a way to let the water vapor escape otherwise?
