Pulling car out of winter storage, wont start

Today I attempted to start the car and pull it out of storage. Checked for carbon deposits and the engine rotates freely. Full tank of gas which was treated before storage. Fully charged battery and plugs look good. The car would not turn over at all. Used just a little bit of starting fluid and everything would run for a second or two so the electrical system is working properly.

I noticed that I couldn't hear the fuel pump run, which I usually can. Is it possible that the fuel pump would just die while it has been sitting? The fuse is fine and the rest of the electrical is working properly. I just would like to know if there is anything I can try before having to replace the pump.

You can generally hear the fuel pump before the starter engages when the lites go on. Try checking for power at the fuel pump terminals. Start with the easy stuff first.

Hey! We are neigbors, i live in Rockford, Illinois.

Today i also got my car out of storage and was worried it would not start, but it did.

Here is an idea of something you can check. Take out the bin behind the drivers seat and check all the wires. Check to make sure they are plugged in. See if you can push them in to make sure they did not go lose, and also to see if mice did not bite into them. Use that starting fluid to get it started and use the accelarator to get it above 3000 RPM for a couple of minutes to see if it will stay running and to warm it up. Have the choke pulled out wonce it is running and slowly let off the gas so it stays running by itself.

Hope this helps and Good luck!

Found the culprit. There was some moisture under the storage bins. Apparently a couple months of that will eat at the connector plug for the fuel pump. Replaced the plug and the fuel pump worked. Also, the car started on the first try! Didn't even fight back or nothing. I'm amazed at how well she started after 5 months of northern wisconsin winter.
