Same with the rotors I ordered for my Audi. I forget which make they were, but they were like 17 bucks each. Plain white box, Brembo rotors...

I don't think its an accident. Raybestos doesn't make their rotors I don't think, so I guess the supplier for this batch is brembo

Do the stated Brembo rotors have the "B" logo stamped into them ? Real Brembos do.

Do the Brembo rotors have "Japan" stamped on them ? Real Brembos do not.

Since when has Brembo started shipping in white boxs ? Last I talked with Brembo corp offices their boxs are red/white.

Do the Brembo rotors have vane or pillar venting ? Real Brembos have pillar vane.

Per Brembo corp offices there are all sorts of Brembo copys out there with the Brembo name/same corp product number on them & some even come in an idential Brembo red/white box..........

From the sound of this thread these are labelled as Raybestos and aren't trying to be seen as Brembos, so why would they be fake brembos. Sorta defeats the purpose dont you think

they're not fake brembos, lol. B logo and brembo plus some other stuff on the rotor, and a paper insert in bunch of languages, german standards logos, whatever.

***From the sound of this thread these are labelled as Raybestos and aren't trying to be seen as Brembos, so why would they be fake brembos. Sorta defeats the purpose dont you think***

***Raybestos box, Brembo rotors. FYI*** From 1st post of thread................

I never said the rotors were FAKE. I added some information for all to see that there are rotors manufactured by people other than Brembo that are packaged in Bremdo boxs. I also gave indicators (pillar venting & the B logo, not stamped Japan) so the people could check their $14.00 rotors to see if they are Brembo. Ya see my man I went through a Brembo purchase 2-3 years ago @ $30 something each & suspected they were not Brembo & with some internet search & talking to Brembo corp office I found out they were not Brembo. IF people can purchase Brembo rotors @ $14.00 each that is one hell of a great deal.

Sometimes people who DON'T read well defeat the purpose.

***whats the difference between 79-80 and 81-85? Different spindles?***

IIRC, through 1983 the front spindle has small bearings. 1984/85 have larger spindle bearings. If you do a search for mrmazda you should come up with a site that has all sorts of good 1st egn stuff in detail.

Have Fun
David

i can pretty much gaurantee that Raybestos is not going to ebay to search for imitation Brembo rotor suppliers...

Brembo does make regular run of the mill brake rotors also.

Then you were completely off thread and it's still defeating the purpose. You should have posted this under a new thread that was dealing with another point altogether.
This thread was about Raybestos rotor which turned out to be Brembos.

Are you stating this was not questioning the Raybestos rotors were Brembos? Sure looks like it to me...

***Are you stating this was not questioning the Raybestos rotors were Brembos? Sure looks like it to me...***

The reason for my first post is that I question if Brembo has rotors available for $14.00 retail. I am only trying to pass on some information to those who may have never ordered something & didn't receive what they ordered. Have you aussiesmg ever ordered Brembo rotors & received something other than Brembo rotors. Are you a moderator of this site or do you just tell people where to go?

***i can pretty much gaurantee that Raybestos is not going to ebay to search for imitation Brembo rotor suppliers...***

I will agree with you on your point. Also when I talked with Brembo about the suspect rotors I received that stated they don't waste their time chasing counterfiters.

Just for grins witrhin a couple days I'll call Brembo & ask if they manufacture any rotors that would sell for $14.00.

Have Fun
David

Also, I think tirerack.com has brembo rotors for $40US

The reason for my first post is that I question if Brembo has rotors available for $14.00 retail.***

After talking with a Brembo guy at Brembo U.S.A on 12/11/06 I now have knowledge that you could not buy Brembo rotors in Brembo boxs for $14.00. While talking there were several circustances (money lost) how/why a vendor (Raybestos)packaged Brembo would be sold for $14.00 U.S. Also the AIMCO vendor repackages Brembo rotors in Canada.

From this conversation continue to be aware that counterfit Brembo rotors are sold daily.

Just a note for info. Approx 1/3 of Brembo rotors are manufactured by Brembo in Mexico. From their site they manufacture something like 28,000,000 rotors per year.

Have Fun
