the cable setup pulls the engine, my strut setup pushes against it.

the top of the engine torques toward the passenger side.

That cable looks like some half assed Jeb Clampett **** IMO. I would spend more time on my engine than I did washing my car. Mi Tue Sents, Good Luck

Is there a strut tower brace that's compatible with camber/caster plates?

Where can you mount an engine torque brace aside from strut bolts?

Which works better? An old Hatch strut or a cable the driver's side? I'd think a hatch strut is too weak.

it was very difficult to install the strut hatch.(trying to compress it to get it in the space) so i'm sure it's doing SOMETHING.

That hard eh? These the cheapies from the auto parts store ot the OEM ones?

I've pushed down on actual car shocks and they don't seem all that hard. Local store I goto have a KYB AGX strut for demo, right next to the Denso and bosch spark plug, and Lucas oil treatment demos...

I can squeeze the KYB up and down pretty easy.

considering it took 2 people(my dad and myself) to compress and put into place after i made the mounts...i'd say it's pretty stiff.

Well, the hatch struts are quite strong. Even my worn out ones are probably stong enough to hold the engine from moving too much. Takes a lot of strength to compress them.

Pele, I say BS. I tried to compress one before, and it was HARD. It was a stock worn out one from an Olds 88, but it can't be any harder than most others.

I thought it was really odd at the last Ashland RX-7 meet I went to. I popped the hatch, raised it up, starting lugging an FC tranny out of the back... and noticed I had a small crowd of gawkers.

"Wow, your hatch struts work?"

The rear wiper works too....

if its a demo then Imstand corrected, but i've nevere met a man or woman who could compress a car shock on their own

bump..

Also, FBDrifter, could you post some pics of your mount for the strut, or at least describe them some?

Could it be done with the air pump in place? I need a cat.

BTW, I headed down to the parts store again... I still dunno if that AGX shock is for real or not, but I can compress it... Although I have to put all my weight on it...

I also took a random hood/hatch strut at PepBoys and was able to compress it... It was a small one though, first one I picked up..

mine is connected to the water pump and the strut tower.

for the part on the engine itself...i removed one of the stock bolts, which also had a washer. i then removed the washer, and bolted the strut in its place.

for the strut mount i drilled through, and attached a large washer to the inside(under the fender)

torque brace has a better angle on the engine. The torque brace is directly perpendicular to the engines movement.

Is there a Triangulated strut bar that's compatible with camber/caster plates?

I'm guessing that no responses mean the answer would be a no.
