Proper '85 GS front brake change procedure???
What is the correct procedure to change the front brake pads on an 85 GS??
The procedure in the Haynes manual is for the older models using stopper/shim pads and an assload of clips. The '84/'85 additions and errata in the back has a procedure for the rears where I unbolt the lower caliper bolt and rotate it clear and then unclip the pads. I cannot use the first as they are different. Is the procedure for the '85 rears correct for the fronts??
Thanks for the help. The one (so far the only) reason that I've found GM/Ford superior to other makes is that a brake job involves one tool to unbolt the caliper. The pads and rotors slide off and clip right back in. I'm finding all the extra crap on my Mazda's brakes to be rather annoying.
