Project update - F**k the GS.

Yep, that's right. I'm throwing in the towel on it. Between subwoofer enclosures, children, etc, I just have no time for it. I'm gonna buy a GSL-SE instead, one that is actually driveable, so maybe I can actually enjoy a 7 for a change.

So, I'll probably be parting out a lot of the stuff I bought for it, and might even part out some of the custom stuff, like the door panels my GF made for it. The -SE will have a custom black and tan interior, mahagony steering wheel and accents, that kind of thing, so there you have it. Yeah, and a turbo, and the Dellorto I bought probably, etc. But, we're building a 24 x 36 barn/garage now, so at least I'll have a good place to work.

Ugh. What a waste of a year.

Not a waste, it's called ojt, and you have learned a great deal. The next project can only be better now. That's my way of giving you a pat on the back for your fine efforts and contributions. Sorry, don't do hugs, lol.

You know what did it? The goddamn suspension work. The bushings, the pieces that won't come apart, etc... It's just so... Not enjoyable.

The good news is, I've been cleared to add an FD to the stable next summer when the barn is done, and I get to order my LS1/T56 for the FC over the winter.

Damn man I'm sorry to hear this. I guess I'll have to pick up the pieces on some of your projects to be(flat taillights versus ribbed, possibly with and without reflector) and flat trim piece to match. I'm going to try and make a nice front spoiler like you were but I want to tie it into fender flares.

Oh, I'll still get around to those after I get the -SE. For now, I'm focusing on finishing up the subwoofer enclosures, taking all the new stuff off the GS, and getting it hauled off to the junkyard.

I'm gonna have an assload of stuff for sale, so keep an eye out guys. GSL rear-end, brand new brake rotors, 15 x 7 110mm wheels with brand new 0 mile tires, etc.

Never did I think I would see the day when $100T2 threw in the towel. Just doesn't seem right. But regardless good luck on finding your GSL-SE and the FD.

It's tough having two project cars. I can't stand looking at my GTUs rotting away while I work on the GS. I'd rather have something I can drive and enjoy now while I get the GTUs squared away, then switch gears and handle the -SE. Plus, I was busting my *** and spending lots of $$$ to basically turn it into an -SE, so I figure I should just save my time and start with an -SE.

Told you to send the control arms and watts links to me and I would clean out the old bushings, powdercoat and install the new bushings.

I know how much of a pita they can be. It was only through stubborness and luck that I figured out how to do them.

Didn't know you had a GTUs, yes, that one needs to be on the street.

Yeah, my GTUs is a bit rough, and sitting outside in the weather for the past year hasn't helped it.

Because I doubt anybody would be willing to come over here and pick it up, especially with no suspension on it.

Sorry to hear your giving up, but yes the GTUs is much much rarer and deserves to see the light of day. Assuming the price is right when you go to sell that GSL rear I'll take it off your hands, I think i'm within reasonable driving distance too... If the shell is solid I'd consider that as well (I'm serious, no bullshit from me )

Not too bad. There's a bit, but surprisingly not bad, especially being a New England car.

The GSL-SE I'm going to check out is worse.

What do you have in mind for an SE?

I've been pondering selling mine.

I'm going to paint it Ferrari blue, change the dash to black, the interior to tan, mahagony steering wheel, shift **** and possible radio surround, door handles & instrument cluster surround with my new hardcore woodworking equipment, put it on 16 x 7s, an S4 turbo, front mount, and a boost prepped Dellorto.
