Project 83
Anyone near the Nashville area that would like to coach me in swapping out motors?
I have bought a White 83 (Don't know model) with all black inside, sunroof, power mirrors, and drum brakes. Car is very nice inside and
only needs a header panel. Paint is good. I would like to drive this instead of my strip model 85. So i could either pull the motor out of the 85 or I have a spare motor pulled from a running 84 in my shed where my SE is parked for the winter.
If I can not find any help I might have sell the car and the spare motor.
Anyone up to help coach? If I knew I could trust a shop I might consider that option but here in spring Hill (48 miles south of Nashville) there is no one I would trust. Even the mazda Dealer tried to get me to sell him my 89 TII black 0n black to him because he said my motor was going out. I drove that car another 35,000 miles with no problems before I was stupid and traded it in for a truck.

By the way, I have all the tools and air tools needed. I have swapped a motor before and had 4 years of auto mechanic training, but I have never done a rotory.

I swapped the motor in se a little over a year ago. It is a whole lot easier than swapping a V-8. Had mine pulled and replaced in little over a day. Maybe 2 not quite fursure when I took it out I got 2 bottles of grease lightning and a pressure washer and cleaned up the engine bay but it does take 2-3 people. Have confidence and you can do it.......
