problems with my 82 gsl

well i was doin doghnuts today i all of a sudden comes a boom which i figured out after checkin all my tires that it mustve been back fire.....i understand that it isnt a bad thing for rotaries to back fire.....now for the real problem.....ever since i got it after i drive it for a 20 minutes it has a hard time idleing sometimes....other times its fine....any suggestions???????also it kinda cuts back if i mash the gas hard all of a sudden while idleing

does your exhaust sound any louder now by chance? Check your spark plugs for fouling.

no its not really any louder.....so i dont believe it blew my muffler guts up.....and thanks for the re assuring thought on plugs i was thinkin the same thing

Well, for all idle problems: Start diagnosis by checking for vacuum leaks.
