Problem with Starting

When I turn my car on (not turn the engine over, just turn it on to listen to the radio or whatever) if I listen to the radio (stock) for afew minutes, then try to start the car, it wont go, no noise or anything, same effect as if I didn't even try, then I have to either try several times, or turn the car completely off, and start it.

Any clues on what could be causing that?

Thanks

Test individual components of the starting system.

Does it start EVERY SINGLE TIME you start it normally, wihhout listening to the radio?

I suspect the ignition switch.

Well, Sometimes it just works, nomatter what I do, sometimes I can turn everything on, and it still works, but sometimes, even with the radio off, if I turn it to the 'on' position, then try to start the engine it wont work, I'm mostly asking for my girlfriend, cause it bothers her (I don't really listen to the radio that much, so "m not to worried )

Thank you for your reply

try this... Next time it does not crank when turning the key, hold the key to "START" and tap the steering column exactly opposite the key, or jiggle the key, still keeping it in the "START" position...

I think there's a loose connection somewhere back there...
