Problem with respeed camber plate kit on GSL-SE

I'm wondering, has anyone installed the respeed camber plate kit on a GSL-SE? Mine is an '85, and I've just discovered the holes in the strut tower do not line up with the corresponding holes in the kit. I'm intrested if anyone else had the same problem while I wait for Billy to respond to my PM.

Thanks

Do you have pictures? I too have the respeed camber plates on an '85 GSL-SE and was able to install them with no problems.

Same here, no problem with REspeed camber kit. In fact, I transferred it from one of my FB's to a RX-4.

I took a couple pics, some measurements with my dial caliper, and made some diagrams with my measurements.

They can be downloaded here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8138141/pics.zip

Apparently my GSL-SE is slightly different than all other first gen RX-7s. I ended up taking a drill and slightly modifying the strut tower holes to get them to work with the kit. I suppose a little bit of modification can be expected on a 25 year old car.

I'm very happy with everything else I bought and can't wait to get out and really drive with the new improvements

Has your car ever been in an accident? Maybe the strut tower got tweaked.

Looks like minor damage to the front left corner (based on the repainted body panels).

I don't see how that could tweak both strut towers so that the holes are off both front to back and left to right the exact same amount.

Probably a stupid question, but is there any chance that they were upside down/backwards/wrong side of car/etc.?

Very strange, but I'm glad you got it figured out....
