Arrow Problem with my car, please help

I have a starting problem. My car with turn over with the key just fine but will not start. I can push start my car and it fires right up and runs like a champ. I have no idea why my car wont start with the key. anyone have some ideas??

Also, I have found a 1982 GSL for $900.00 It doesnt run, the says it is just the fuel pump. The car has also been sitting for 8 years. But has a nice paint job, decent interior, and a semi-clean body. I think the seller might be the miles...77200 original. Is the worth it??

Thanks for your time

Could be a problem with your ignition switch. Have some one crank it with the key while you check for spark at your plugs. No spark = electrical problem probably with the switch and not the ignition system since you say it runs if you push start it. When you push start it, does it start right up with a slow roll or do you have to get going pretty fast before you pop the clutch? If you have to be going faster (20 mph or so) before it will start you may have low compression in which case you could try one of the decarbonizing techniques to see if that improves compression.

$900 sounds a little steep for a car that has not ran in 8 years. Offer $400 and see what happens. I would not pay $900 for one that has not started in that long unless it looked really really good.

The car has spark when turned over and when pushed it starts up fine at slower speeds.

Did you disconect your battery lately?
Try takeing the negative loose(off) and reconecting it.
If you connect the positive last, it may screw "something" up.
It did on an 80 I had, with similar results.

Best advice do the simple stuff first. Charge or replace the battery. While its on the charger, check and clean all the battery connectors and the starter connections.

yeah. charge the battery up some. and why not check the alternator right after you push start it, unplug the posative battery terminal. it should stay running, if not it's probably your alternator gone south.
