Pro Audio guys: Help me out!
Alright. I'm goign to be installing 2x 12" MTX Thunder 8000's, with a Rockford Fosgate BD800.2 amp. Basic 50W amps for speaks (seperate amps for front and rear).
My current setup is as follows:
As you can see, this is quite large and takes up my entire trunk area. It is however very very loud.
I'm thinking of putting them where the bins are in my GSL-SE, (new car), perhaps creating a fiberglass/steel reinforced box for them.
My question is, for sound volume, would this be a good setup? Or would the seperate box be a better competition route? I'm probably going to put them in the bins regarldess, becuase i would like to use the trunk space.
Also, ported or closed boxes? also, Individual or seperate boxes for each side? Connect them somehow?
I am going to be running the two subs bridged from the amp in parallell, totalling 2 ohm impedence (per sub).
Thanks for the help! To respond, chat email or PM would prolly be best:

Yes I have explained the theory of this many many times... But anyways, the long and the short of it, is no dont use the bins. They will work ok, but you will get better loudness firing them at the rear most part of the car, preferably off a solid surface.
Ok which thunder 8000 you got a 4 ohm model?
If yuo wire both subs in parallel and bridge mono on that amp, I dont beleive that fosgate is a hi current design. I think its minimal mono load is 4 ohms..

Anytime baby!
Do a search for "sub, sub enclosure, sound sytem" etc in the first gen and audio forums. There was a novel written about the midsub location when RotorMotorDriver was building his (neverending) box and a novella written about the rear sub location...
Right on.
Right on.

why not try a flat box all the way across the rear deck with flat mounted amps and rigid covers so u can set stuff in there. someone here has a setup like this (cant remember who) that is what Im planning on for my 2 12"eclipses and rf 800 and hifonics (zeus) 200.
