Rat bastards...I put in 1979 for the year and Mazda is not one of the available makes. It is for my 85 though. I still haven't found the code for the Sonic Bronze Metallic on my '79. I found a site a while back that I think might have had it (I think it was Y9 or something like that), but it wasn't difinitive.

There is a sticker on the underside of the hood, above the battery that lists the color code.

I don't think mine has a sticker on the underside of the hood, and I didn't take one off. But I'll check for sure tonight.

Hmm i have a question? Does anyone know if single stage panits are a good thing to purchase and use? Or is it better to paint with a basecoat THEN top it with a clear coat? oh AND MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!
edit: AND how much paint do you think i will need to paint JUST THE FRONT BUMPER ON MY 82 GS? One pint? One Quart? ONE GALLON? Thanks Guys!

Single stage paint is fine, if you don't want a clearcoat. That's what I have on the widebody, but then I was going for a dull look. I do recommend going 2 stage though. The clear is a wear surface and allows the paint job to last longer. My supplier will do pints, but it's expensive in small quantities.
Give this place a try - I have YET to be able to stump them! They can even color age touchup for older cars (I have a few 1966 cars).

Good calls on the paint people. On the earlier questions - my '79 has the paint code on a sticker on the underside of the bonnet/hood, above the battery area (ie LHS). But I'm in Aus, so that may not count.

I was hoping to find some green pearl effect (c6v) off of my VW corrado. Dang.
