Be prepared to be jealous !!!!!!!!

As some of you know I picked up a second SE on ebay this week. The owner told me that the engine was blown. Since this my new TII conversion car I did not care about the engine. The body is flawless and interior is excellent. Well I took it to MAZSPORT yesterday and found out it had good compression and Scott suspected the AFM. Today I removed the AFM and saw that the flap/valve was stuck open, so after a shot of WD-40 it fired right up...That car sat for over a year so I drained the gas, changed the filter ect.... The only problem is that the tires feel like they are square. New tires are the agenda for tommorow... I think I'll drive it for a few weeks before I start the engine change...

Not be for $2400 bucks!!

Why does everyone in here always say that? The car is in good shape and it does run... For me $2,400 isn't all that bad... And I'm cheap!

Yeah the new trend was FD for FC prices. Trying to find the best deals and brag about them.

Wait, who wouldn't brag?

I am not a 18 year old kid that makes 9.50 per hour. 2400 is not alot for something I want that is in good shape. Clean SE's are getting hard to come by..

Good for you man! I bought my GSL when I was 19. It was the car I wanted and I looked for almost 4 years for the right one. That was 10 years ago and I still have that same car. So I'd say I got a good deal too...

I feel the same way, if it is what you want and it is in good shape then it is a good deal. I've known and seen so many people get a "deal" on a car and end up spending a fortune on repairs to make it "right" or just to keep it going. If all it took was a spray of WD-40 to get her running I'd say you did well.

Congrats!

Nice save, Perfect7 - somebody loved that car before you got it. Leave it to a rotorhead to fix the simple problem and get it running beautifully!

I do not like you Sir!

Oh, and that kind of money for a body in that kind of shape? I'd jump on it too. Glad she found a good home man....

Your the guy i was bidding against! haha, i live about 100 miles from where the car was and he told me it overheated on him and started smoking so i assumed it would need coolant seals and he may have warped stuff in it. I was prepared to bid at the end but i only had 2k to bid with so i never tried. Glad you got it figured out. There was some guy on there bidding that was planning to put a v8 in it so im glad you got it and not him. Im jealous of you !! congradulations on the purchase

/\ haha actually i didnt word that correctly. I never bidded on it, i was planning to there at the end but you and i think one other guy got into a bidding war and it jumped from 1400 one minute to 2400 the next. I gave up hope at 2k. But its a clean little car. I wanted it because its almost as nice as my first one that i foolishly sold. Sigh, oh well ill just settle on my vert. Tough i know

I think you got a good buy. Especially since the motor is good. I hear about these "deals" and I would just like to see them. I know every once in a while you can nearly steal something from someone who is clueless, but that is rare. Those "deals" usually end up being a piece of junk that if restored correctly cost a lot of money. Your car won't need much of anything. Nice buy!

i wouldn't pay 2400 for an se with a presumed-dead motor. if i knew for sure it ran, yeah if it looked that nice, i wouldn't be upset to pay that.

then again my se cost me 800, so i do kno whow to lowball
