Pre-mix

The norm is 1oz per gallon of fuel.

At the track im much more scientific.

Three "glugs" from the oil bottle per tank.

well, i still run the omp, but as a backup, in case of failure, i would want to be much more diluted, right?

we are using premix @ 1oz per gal. I just recently changed to 1oz for every 2 gals of gas, and the car seems to like it much better. This is on the turbo car not the supercharged one

At full rich, the OMP delivers oil at 150:1 ratio, so I'd mix at that ratio to ensure that the engine is getting sufficient oil without overdoing it. 64:1 is WAY, WAY, WAY too much oil.

Some people elect to mix 2 cycle oil in the gas, either as a replacement or supplement to the stock Oil Metering Pump, which injects oil from the pan into the combustion chambers to lubricate the apex seals. It is generally believed that premixing provides better lubrication than the stock system, but for street use, there is no need to supplement or replace the OMP with premix unless the pump has failed (very unlikely.)

Here is the way I see it. I have two sevens, one is a SE and the other a GSL. The SE will get up to 25 miles to a gallon. Oil changes are done at 3k miles and the SE usually looses 2 quarts. It has an original engine and leaks just as much oil as being fed by the omp. With that being said, the car is using .5 gallons of oil to 120 gallons of gas or a 1:240 ratio. My GSL has a rebuilt engine and only loses about a 1.5 quarts between changes. It averages about 20 miles to the gallon. This puts its ratio at a 1:400.

So if I was just running premix w/o an omp, 1oz oil to 2 gal. gas would be more than enough to meet factory demands. I have seen threads about miles to the gallon but I wonder what others experience when it come to oil consumption.

about a quart per 1000. if you get 20 miles a gallon, thats fifty gallons. 32 oz per 50 gallons.

also, i thought there were like 128 ounces in a gallon so 1 ounce of premix to 1 gallon would be like 128:1?

For some reason everyone seems to think 1oz to 1gal is a 100:1 ratio. I was complementin you on your math 'correctness.

cool. i guess running 1oz per gallon should be ok right? 128:1. plan to take the car to the drag strip and don't want to ruin anything. i saw in the post that the stock pump sends 150:1 at max. currently the previous owner was running 1.5 gal to 1 oz or 192:1. don't want to put too much oil as im guessing that would lean out the mixture right?

Racing Beat recommended 3oz per 5 gallons for my setup. I regularly hit 10K rpms and run a 150 shot of N2O and have been for almost a year now...still no issues...the 13B runs great.
