Power Windows?

My driver's side power window refuses to roll up. Any advice? There IS electricity getting to it, so it isn't wiring

mine were slow and stuck at times. i took out the motors and cleaned them out and applied new grease to them, i also re-alligned the window channel...results are now smooth rolling windows up and down...good luck

Window seals

Has anyone replaced the window channel seals? (The rubber inside the channel the window slides up and down)

Switches

Same thing happened to me, got new window switches and they work perfectly now, switches go for about 60 a peice but they work as good as new now.

I'm with bizarro...
Take that motor out and clean it well... be careful not to break anything :-)

If it still doesn't work, you'll have to consider things like a blown coil in the motor.... which is likely to be not fixable easily.

If you need it up now pull off the door panel and hit up on the switch and tap the motor with a hammer, it should go back up, obviously you'll need to replace the regulator when you get a chance.

Window seals
If yours are worn out you can get replacement ones from Victoria British for about $40 apiece. (do a Yahoo search under victoriabritish) If they are just sliding in the door frame with the window there is an easy fix. When mine started sliding, I put a little bit of black silicone (RTV) in the top side of the seals at the corners and pushed them back in the frame and ran the windows up and left them for 24 hrs. Not a slide one out of them since.

if you want new switches that work just as good as the stock ones, gimme a PM. $40 for replacement switches and metal center pannel piece

dont buy replacement switches...carefully take yours apart...(bottom pannel off)...make a note, or a drawing of what it looks like (where everything goes) then with a Q-tip and hydrogen peroxide (h2o2) clean all of the crap off of your leads and the inside of the switch....then re-assemble and buy your self $120.00 worth of stuff you really need.

I got the same window channels from Victoria British too. They needed trimming but work great. I recommend everyone get one of their catalogs on hand. Great replacement parts for everything, OEM style, that you wouldn't want to rip out of a junker. For example rubber pieces that corrode over time.
