power loss suddenly at 6000 rpm please help
Hi all,
just finished my finals and took my car out for a drive (oh I miss her so much), I wanted to work the engine a bit, ... put it in 3rd and went all the way up 6000 rpm, right after that, there was a strange noise, sounds like the engine is muffed, but the sound sorta coming from the back (BTW I have straight pipe and mech secondary and she usually sounds solid and bright), at that time there was no power, feels like the car is pulled back, I shifted.... there was I back fire... The car run fine after the shift, then I tried again... put it in third and 6000 rpm, same thing... put it in 4th and reved up, sounds even worse, however, then I slowed down, put it in second... this time it is better, went all the way to 6500 no problem...
I did a search here, however was not able to find the answer, I sense it is something about the fuel or ignition, but do not have a clue about what's realy happening. Any advise is appreciated, thanks!!!
