power loss above 5-6000rpm

hi all,
I'm a complete newbie to rotary engines, but I am very keen to learn...
Anywayz this Car i want to buy is a rx7 series 2 with a fresh motor done 7000km... it seems to have a fair bit of torque down low for a rotary but above about 5-6000rpm it loses power. is this something to do with the carby? or fuel supply?
its a 12a.
cheers,
chris.

the motor should pull freely to 7000 rpm. it may be something in the fuel or a restriction in the intake system.

If you decide to get it, don't overlook the ignition system.
