not necessarily a roll bar, but the should harness should be as close to shoulder height as possible. On the floor so low is NOT good. It's better to attach it all the way in the back of the hatch if you have no choice.

haha that's pretty much a huge pain in the *** in a car as small as a 7. try troubleshooting wiring under the dash of an EVEN SMALLER and '75 porsche 914 the double whammy is that the wiring makes even less sense in the porsche and there's like 4x as much of it.

Mine looks fairly ordinary compared with some of the really exotic photos on here (1982 Savanna Rx-7 LSD Special Edn).

The rest of the photos are at:

Best wishes from Wales

Frank

Try it in a '70s Corvette! The big-*** door sill and tiny footwell will kill you. Trust me, I put an alarm in a '78 Silver Anniversary model once.

A few years ago:

Now:

Except that there's an '84 tranny in there now, so the shifter is further back. Obviously the boot plate doesn't fit any more, so I'm making an aluminum one.

driver's area:

Custom pedal covers:

Realized that I should have digitized the "RX-7" logo and used it under the "Mazda" logo after everything was done...

Speaker pod:

Door panel upholstery needs work...

Rear speakers:

Needs new carpet.

Dang, that diamond plate's pretty sweet!
Um, I see the amp, so where's the head? Or is that an ignition or something?
Where's the AC controls?
How'd you cut the stuff? It looks pretty clean.

You need a tougher-looking steering wheel to go with the diamond plate, though...
somethin like http://www.grantproducts.com/grant.fm$retrieve?seqnum=123107&html=grantdetail
or http://www.grantproducts.com/grant.fm$retrieve?seqnum=123171&html=grantdetail
or http://www.grantproducts.com/grant.fm$retrieve?seqnum=122982&html=grantdetail
or you're favorite Sparco. Something with billet aluminum would be nice to go with the plate.
