I looked into the Miata conversion kit as well but since it had too many modifications to work with the rx7 i decided not to do it.... Im not too good when it comes to **** like that, and to top it off I am some what of a perfectionist and if it did not look perfect I was going to get really pissed off...

Its a fair bit of money to spend on such an unknown.
Ive still not seen a Miata pop-up kit that was successfully swapped, -AND-...... shown working/displayed up and down.I tried it years ago and its a total nightmare of mismatched hinges, linkage and incorrect dimensions.I basically hacked up a $400 Brainstorm kit for nothing, and the lights themselves sucked too.
The MTM kit was a bit cheaper and far easier to graft into place, since its passive. It was really just a matter of trimming and mounting, although I am unhappy that its not a sealed,weather-proof setup. The lights sucked too and I knew they had to go once I got the kit in my hands. The additional cost of the Hella 90MM lights pretty much put me on-par with the cost of the Brainstorm pop-up kit I butchered years before.......

One way or another your kit looks completely off the chain... you did a great job at it and as far as i can see is unique.the conversion is something that I gave up a long time ago...
My project will be very simple, All I really want is the full exhaust racing beat, a body kit and rear spoiler.... then the wheels. that is about it... not going to drop too much money into performance...
In any case, those updated pictures are really nice... keep them coming...

They do their own work and we discussed the performance upgrades.. when we discussed the total i decided not to... I have other priorities.. and on top of that no matter how much money i put on the car i will never go as fast as when i used to ride my Suzuki GSX-R 1000... so I gave that up...

i was told that foose will cost make rims like the rims he have and have them drilled for your fb i like this rim and some other but they are way to big like 20inch
edit or this rim it looks like the old school ones but they are only 4x100. and they will not custom drill them for a fb i asked.

Open shot, have you seen Rico Suave's wheels ? those are really nice... I kinda like AXIS wheels a lot. They make a really good product. Never had any problems and they look really nice...
Like I said, I ordered the body kit and spoiler, next month I will get the RB full system. I have until then to decide which wheels... then the Audio system...

I've been wondering what a tuner wing would look like on our old school cars -- I think it might be OK. The countour of the end plates matches the car's lines. Opening the rear hatch must be a wrist-breaker. Did you consider mounting the wing to the glass instead? Haven't seen it done yet, but I'm toying with the idea. I figure the loads the wing creates can't be much more than the force the liftgate struts exert on the glass. You could even use the same holes if the verticals were spaced correctly.
BTW -- here's my dust bucket.

There are at least 4 different whaletails for the 1st gens, I have 2 atm and a 3rd coming soon. This is not counting the true IMSA wing which is NLA. Billy's IMSA widebody has the IMSA wing, pics are in the photochop thread.
Which body kit and wing did you order?

Thanks. I'm not sure if I would do the whaletail again. It's kinda like a leisure suit -- looked cool in the '70s and early '80s, but not so much today. It was a little nibble off Porsche (like the targa band). If I do it again, I'll probably go with a wing of some sort. My ideal setup would be something that matches the curvature at the rear of the car, is attached to the hatch glass, and is adjustable in angle of attack. Shouldn't look too ricey, but shouldn't be a blatant copy of anything either.
One good thing I can say about the whaletails is they are a excellent place to store stuff -- they're a 100mph shelf. Hell, you can put at least 4 cases of beer on mine!

like I said, it is a matter of taste... some people think it looks like **** unless it has a widebody ... I like the way it looks so I went with it...
About the wheels.. I have no idea.. but I would not go higher than 18". I have 19" on my Celica and It looks great but I dont particulary like the way it rides...
