Possibly running lean?
Because I'm such a child, I've been trying to get my SE to backfire now that I have a straight through exhaust from header to tip but it hasn't done anything yet and it has me a little concerned it might be running lean. Taking it up to 6.5 or 7k then just letting off the throttle, there is no pop, which I should expect it to especially knowing the rotary's nature. What do you guys think? Maybe a clogged fuel filter? Or are SE's more tame than the carbed motors.

SE's arent as rich as some of the other cars, also the stock fuel system doesnt have much extra capacity, so like an FC or a 12A gets richer when you take the cat out, but the SE doesnt change much

Ah ok good to know. I think I got one good bang judging by my lit up rear view mirror at night, so I'm happy. I only drive like a juvenile on desolate roads where there is nobody but me to harm (maybe some livestock?)
