possable buy?

http://sandiego.craigslist.org/car/169521372.html

It won't smog, has over 100k on orginal motor and has a clean title. Could probably get it for alot less than it is right now. How much would it take to get an old 12a like that to smog?

You pay someone for about $150 then they will do it for you without bringing your car in.

i think its a good buy. i would jump on it if the interior is up to snuff and the engine runs well. since it wont pass a smog test, offer the guy $450 or $500. keep us posted.

Has potential, FB rims on an SA, there's lots of tricks to passing the smog, like pinching the OMP lines until it is tested.

Make some friends at the local testing place, thats what I did. Didn't cost me $150, just a case of beer.

The SA exhaust system is quite different than the FBs, in regards to emissions. They are also nla. If you want to pass leagally, an FB system may be used, along with other mods. Oem dealer price is near 1k.

As a side note, I have a question about somogging in CA. If a car cannot pass and is sold, does it get a salvage tittle because of the smog? The reason I ask this is I have an FB that was CA tittled, but came with a salvage designation, though the car had never been in a wreck and was running (barely) and complete when I bought it.
