porting

Hello, I have a stock 84 rx7gsl 12a. it needs a little more power. It has no cat, turbo muffler and a nikki carb. I took the spring out of the vaccuum secondary diaphram and didn't see much difference ( I wonder if the secondaries are even opening). Power seems to top out at 6800 rpm. My main question, is it possible to do a street port without removing or rebuilding the engine. Also, since the cat is gone, and exhaust flows well, would a header make a measureable difference. Carb works well, but can't find the idle screw. Choke works but fast dile doesn't. Thanks for any advice.

The header will probably give you the best bang for your buck. If you want to port your engine, you'll probably want to replace your carb with a side draft or a holley and put on a full exhaust to really take advantage of the port job.

No, it's not possible to do a port job to a rotary without taking it apart.
Unless there's some new technique that I'm unaware of.
heh
