popping nuts

I search and found threads that mainly looked at converting to the 2nd gen rotor and binders.

I'm not really interested in that I had it out last night at a local drift day and the stock worn brakes where more than enough for that type of work. So some cross drilleds and hawk pads will easily do the trick.

My problem is those stupid lug bolts. One was already missing/stripped and another "popped out" during the d-day.

Thats not acceptable, theres certain stuff you cant skimp on.

1. Is this a common behaviour of the stock rotors?

2. Will new rotors cure this or is there a fix for it? (upgrade or mod-i'll swap to 2nd get but dont want to)

I will be running 15's in the future with fender flares, that might effect future/current upgrades or repairs

BTW, It did great for stock and the first time out. I really love the 1st gens. Cant wait for a fresh motor and some webbers.

Nope. Threads are in the hubs in the front, axle flange in the rear. You either replace them or tap them to the next larger size, then use studs and conical seat nuts. Retapping and upsizing the studs would be worth a try. If the threads are damaged, you have nothing to lose and this is not a place to use a helicoil.

The only nuts I popped do not refer to this thread.

Another option, is a fully SE suspension conversion.

I will just swap to GSL, myself.

To go SE is a whole suspension swap. It's 114.3x4.

As far as I know, it's a full suspension and brakes conversion. Time intensive and all. But it will give you studs instead of bolts.

Converting to studs is simple, there are 2 ways to go. Press in or screw in, your choice.
