Poor RX-7 on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1982-...QQcmdZViewItem

It says this RX-7 was stored for 6 years and only started once a year
But does not run? So how was it started at least once a year if it does not run.
And the tires are dry rotted.

Poor seven!

Some people should not own this wonderful cars.

Kinda sad, but at the same time with a new owner the car could be back to its original glory in no time. If they only started the car once a year for the last 6 years the fuel is just as old, and knowing how people are there probally was never stabilizer added to it. My bet is that is would be easy to get that car going again with some work and time.

I'd buy it for a dollar, even the 990 buy it now isn't bad if the engine is good and the rust minimal.

My guess is he put it up for sale because it wouldn't start and doesn't know what to do next. Most of us know how to get one of these stored cars running in a day or 2, even if the tank needs flushed and the carb needs rebuilt.

exactly the same condition I found my car in.

$1000 is *not* a bad price for this car. That's how much any non-running great condition FB should be.

Mine wasn't even started up once a year, and it sat for 12 years, and I can get it to start first crank now.

I agree with the original poster. Some people shouldn't own these cars. It should be a prerequesite to know at least the basics on how the engine works or something. The guy I bought my first FB off of didn't know anything at all about the car. He just liked the way it looked which is why he bought it when it was only two years old and kept it since. I told him more about the car than he knew in the 20 years he owned it. Oh well. That car looks to be in good shape, and a knowledgeable rotary guy could get it started like Trochoid said, which would make it well worth that price if it is in as good of shape as it appears to be aside from the engine not running.

The Ebay ad states it has 4-Cylinder engine. Either the engine was swapped or the seller does not know it has a Rotary Engine.

Headlight Covers of a different colour are a warning Indication, and seller offers no explanation for the odd appearance.
