His user profile says he has an '84 GSL. So, I'm guessing carb.

What do you mean by throttle opener? Are you talking about the throttle shaft, or the throttle cable holder?

Although this is a jdsm turbo the throttle opener is the same and is at the rear of the carb.

I thought he meant the electric hot start throttle opener, but it lookes like hes reffering to the AC throttle kicker that ups the idle when the accessory loads drag the engine down.

Talking Throttle opener

Just to make sure you know what it is. Another pic of it...closer up.

As i said in the other post though...if you don't run A/C and don't have a big sound system etc. there is no need for this. It's purpose is to compensate for the engine being under power load when you turn on the A/C or turn on the fans, etc etc.

usually when the a/c is on and the throttle opener is opening the throttle to compensate for the load, it can raise the idle up to as much as 1200rpm.

The throttle opener is the long flat black pedal to the right of the one that stops the car..........

Excuse the foggy pics. It was 44 (BRRRRR) this morning in Naples and the camera was in the garage.

Here's the vacuum line going from the Throttle opener to the hard metal line as shown.

The metal line follows the dashed line and the short hose at the other end goes to the ....

AC solenoid valve. It is the one closest to the firewall with the White connector

Wow, I'm impressed, between humor and some very good technical pics, you guys got the job done. Maybe someday we can shake our 'Evil Forum' nickname. At least in the 1st gen extion, there's no hope for the 2nd gen guys.
