No, its a long story man. Lets just say that even after all my work, I may not get to keep my car cause its not legally mine. The guy that we got it from didnt give us all the paperwork we need...As in, the title. We STUPIDLY never looked, and I began work on the car without it being mine. Legally, it belongs to a guy in another city that may or may not know we have it (we were told that he did by the guy that we got it from, but what does he know ). Anyway, as it turns out, its still in this other guys name, and I have to contact him to get it in my name IF IF IF IF he even wants to get rid of it . I know its a big mess, and Im pissed at my Dad. He said he would take care of all of it, and he never did . Anyway, I needed the CarFax to trace the title transfers and stuff...The only registration we have was from '96 . Anyone have advise for me?

Yeah never take possession of a car unless you have a signed title by the previous owner And never work on the car if its not yours? !

Pull the Vins and all serial numbers and turn it into a race car.... J/K would be a good idea if you didnt mind risking jail time.....

Good luck, hope it turns out in your favour!

I know man, I know. Its just that my Dad said that he would take care of it . Damn it...Anyway, everything I did is "easily reversable", so if worse comes to worse, I can just pull everything I put on/in back off/out...

A carfax won't tell you the owner(s). the info on them is kinda limited. I would love to help you, but I closed my account over 6 months ago.
