ok guys, about to embark on the infamous 2gcdfis install into my first gen

question is ; which coil pack is needed ? one on the left or the one on the right ?

also, are these actually both from the second gen ?

forget to say....i've got a 50% chance of guessing this right....so I guess the one on the right......am i correct ?

 

If it still has the plastic cap on it it will show the plug connections. Either way, you want the smaller one, as odd as that sounds.

 

yes, the one on the right andyes, they're both gen 2 coils.

 

Confirmed,the right coil is your choice.

The left (trailing) is actually 2 totally seperate coils with seperate ignitors.It cant be used without the 2nd gen ECU controlling them.

The 2nd gen leading coil is really just one coil with one ignitor.The only thing that makes it special is that there are 2 plug wire terminals instead of one.Both fire off the same windings at the same time,everytime.
