Please everyone vote

here goes ,

short explaination before question,

I will be packing up the trailer queen since I dont drive it in the winter,
I'm gonna rip out the engine and rebuild it and maybe street port it.

I just bought a TV capture card, dvd burner and a 120gb hard drive for my comp ,

see where I'm going with this?

would anyone be interested if I made a video of me rebuilding the little 12a that could?

It wont be my first rebuild but it will be my first complete rebuild, the last time I did it I just changed a couple gaskets, no apex seals, springs or anything like that.

again the question, please vote, and or post your comments,

oh and yes it would be free if someone could host it or we can all share it on kaazaa or I can put it on a dvd and mail them out for price of disc and shipping.

I am also thinking of getting my website back up and hosting somewhere else and having people ftp directly from me, and if I get enough votes and all goes well with first vid I will make a vid for every mod I do that people have a ton of questions for, like the gsl-se suspenion swap, direct fire, hard start how-to's, etc...

let me know what you guys think, I know I would rather watch a 30 min. movie then read a 4 hr post with crappy pics and still not understand it because the editor forgot to edit some things in.

I'll tell you what V8kilr, if you make it I will host it either on my website, ftp or through kazaa. (More then likely my website.)

I'll offer my assistance in getting the video down to hostable size while maintaining the quality. Nobody likes losing 100M a pop for anything. Hell, the bandwidth usage on my 15M tutorial is bad enough.

Raw file size, btw will be about 30 G since most DV output fills about 1 Gig per minute of video w/audio. I'm betting that anything that shows enough detail will rapidly push 300M if you aren't careful - and that's why I'm offerring my help.

well im not transporting via firewire,

I just have a standard vid camera and will be capturing through mpeg 2,
then converting to divx,

so everyone will need the divx codec or they can convert it and double the size.

I already have some pretty bad *** video editing software so I think i have it all under control, but thanks for the offer.

mostly I just need multiple hosts to get it out fast and reliable.

also I will be doing a simple gs to a gsl rear end swap within the next couple weeks,

is anyone interested in that?

I'm sorry but if people cant deal with 100mb then my films wont be for them,

if I do a 30 minute film it will be around 250mb low quality and 500mb high quality

if any one pushes it down further I wont take lightly to it, mainly because I am sick of awsome vids that suck because there squeezed down to far so you lose the detail, you need to see what bolt im pointing and not just a big blob eating another big blob on the screen..
250mb is **** in the wind now-a-days, even my old small hard drive was still 40gig. I only got the 120 gb to edit and copy dvd's.

if its too big then get the smaller of the two files I will offer,

if its still too big then get the dvd cd from me, they will be ultra high quality playable dvd's at around 3-6gb

Hey, I recommend that you make the vid by chapters and not one huge file. That way it would be easier to manage.

Just a thought. I do stuff like this at work all the time.

Mpeg 4... Higher quality and better compression control than divx. Not to mention that Mpeg 4 is actually a *gasp* standard.

Do it! I'm more than willing to pay for the cost of burning a DVD, and shipping, if I don't have to download it.

Make the DVD, break it into chapters and I'll buy it, especially since it sounds like you think $35 is too high a price for such a product...

lol, like I said originally go atkins if you need 13b advice, this is for us little 12a guys that always are forgot about in the performance world,
j/k

im sure it will still work just the same, I have heard many people say to get the 13b vid to rebuild a 12a so i would guess its backwards compatable.

If you want to do a DVD, I'll do up a nifty menu and all kinds of goodies for it. Since DVD-R media is down to about $3 per disk now and I can burn a full DVD in about 20 minutes, I'll be happy to help.

OK heres the deal, I am working on a car "1st gen resto project for a guy out west michigan" and I need it done by spring,
I have to show the guy I am doing the build for my car because he wants to check it out,

so If I do start now it has to be done before spring,

not a problem but that means I will have to come up with
$600.00 rebuild kit
$150.00 engine stand

I think its doable but I have to be 100% positive before the venture,

but for now I will do the rear end swap, and the secondaries on an extra carb i have for whoever posted that.

also read this

WHERE CAN I GET THE REBUILD KIT THE ABSOLUTE CHEAPEST

thanks
