Plastic welding grill, bumper?

Anybody have any expierence in plastic welding? I need to do a few parts to the grill and I have a bumper that has a crack right where it does a 90% turn. I know the bumper is some kind of rubber.

No experience with plastic welding here, but I have repaired my bumper before and done what I think was a prety decent job. The bumper itself is some sort of urethane, but if you go down to your local bodyshop supply store, or even some auto parts stores they will have an epoxy product designed for flexible body parts. It will be a 2 part epoxy suitable for a wide range of urethane compositions.

I know that there are many different types of urethanes used for bumpers and body parts, so getting it plastic welded must be done by someone who knows their stuff.
My car that had the bumper repaired was written off, but at that point aproximately 3 years after the repair, you still couldnt even tell it was done.
I personally would go with the flexible epoxy again, just because it worked out for me so if you arent set on plastic welding give it a shot!
Only thing you should do with the epoxy is remove some material around the area to be repaired, so that the epoxy isnt super thin, and has some body to it. With my experience, I dont think you can go wrong with it!

go down to local parts store an get a tube of 2 part epoxy made for bumper repair. make sure u scuff the area to be repaired very good with 80 grit!....u should also renforce the inside as well with the epoxy!

I got one of these for welding polyethylenebut it came with asst rods for common plastics in bumpers, MX fenders, etc. All you need is a compressor to run it. Like most welding the slower you go, the better it looks. If your bumper cover isnt too busted up, it would be worth a shot. Plan on painting over your repair, I dont think you could ever get a decent match otherwise...
