After 27 years Wilma came back to life today. With a later distributor, cap & rotor she started right up. I can't believe it! She actually runs smoother than my other GTU. But she will need a total new fuel system though. That had not faired very well in the barn. But so far all the other systems seem to be fine. So we are planning a quick track test for next month to see what else she might need. I'll post a few pics soon!

Eh, I guess that's just where I differ from you guys. I'd restore it to perfect then just take it to car shows and and maybe the occasional vintage race.
I mean if you want one to beat on and race then build one that's not that damn rare. There's a reason that car has been stored.

I would restore it and show it whenever possible.

I race a wide body RX-7, not an IMSA, but I would love to get my hands on a period correct IMSA car. If you know of any of the sister cars that might be around I'm certainly in the market for one next year.
Continued success on your restoration.

What? lol. It would be a really fun project if I had 50k laying around. I'm not talking about a fully functional mach 5 that I could jump from rooftop to rooftop with a push of a button. Maybe the oil slick thing though lol. I was talking more exterior. I think the 1st gen would be the perfect car to do it with. It even comes with the same ugly red interior we all love so much. All I know is I would feel way more badass in that than a lambo lol.
