Talking Pics, pics, and more pics.

Well, I finally got off my lazy butt, and got a photo gallery up and running. I'm still in the process of uploading images, but I have quite a few already up there.

Take a look and enjoy.

http://3rdhour.com/gallery/

p.s. It's the one labeled "RX-7". Feel free to leave comments.

Nice pics!
Just curious to know if your 20B project is strictly for race or if you'll be using it on the street as well.

I'm jealous because I have a lot left to be done for my car, and also because I don't have a camera to post my own pictures ...

The 20b tt project will be with the intent of driving on the street. What fun is it if I can't enjoy drivig it around. I don't want it to be a trailer queen.

Can you tell me the results of this? Is it much quieter? Or not worth the $$.

Thanks.

Directfreak - Yes, I noticed a great difference in sound reduction. I would say about 25-35%.

Manntis - It doesn't show in the picture but I cut out around the rubber plugs. As long as your careful not to stick a hole into the Dynamat when placing and form it, I would think there would be no problem. The sticky side of the Dynamat is like a thick rubber glue.

FYI: MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN THE SURFACE BEFORE INSTALLING DYNAMAT!

Yeah guys that is EXACTLY what dynamat is for. Its for lining the floorboard etc ... Roof etc... People come into my work are they are like my car rattles, my friend said I just put some dynamat in there, and it will be OK. And then they freak when I tell them it will be 50/hr to put it in... But Error you understand why now dont you LOL
You have to take the entire car apart, and clean everything...

Exactly! You have to take your time and do it right. I do want to mention...Dynamat is not for people who want reduce the weight of the car. The stuff was heavy for it's appearance.

btw: I have more pics on the way. I still have to post the 2nd gen oil cooler mod, etc...

That's one reason why newer cars are so much heavier than they were 20 years ago - people want that BMW vault-like silence in their car as they drive, which means more sound deadening.

i was just curious because of the acid-dipping you mentioned in you siggy ...

never heard of anyone going out of their way to do that to a street car before, unless it was a complete restoration job.

You said it right there, "....unless it was a complete restoration job."

That is my whole drive behind the project. Of course there will be a few upgrades here and there.

It varies from place to place. I've called a few places around here, and it costs more then I would want to pay. But hey, if you want it done right you gotta pay, right?

The welding is something that I will be doing, so the cost is only tools and time form me, I still have to get the frame straightend. (A friend of mine mentioned that I could rent the tools to do it myself.)

Mike, I totally understand. I want to be able to show off my time and work I've spent on the car. (It doesn't mean I can't have SOME fun with it.)

Under the yellow pages, custom paint job places, hot rod shops, custome automotive shops, etc...

You can.

http://gallery.menalto.com/modules.p...ews&file=index

That is a link to the original code. I modified some of the background in mine. ~shrugs~ If you don't have your own website. You can find a free webhosting provider that has PHP.

Just added more pics under "the caves" album.

Sean Connery: Well, the game is afoot. I'll take **** bum cover for 7,000.

Alex Trebek: That's An album cover, not **** bum cover.

Sean Connery: I can read, Trebek. That says **** bum cover. I've spent five years of my life trying to invent an **** bum cover, failing to do so is my greatest regret.
